Nutrition Coaching

Nutrition Coaching is an opportunity to completely reset your relationship with food and the way in which you fuel your body.  As a qualified level 4 Nutrition Coach and enthusiastic cook, I am passionate about helping others to understand how to nourish their bodies through good nutrition.  


Your bespoke programme starts with a nutrition lesson - giving you the knowledge to understand what your body needs to thrive and empowering you with the confidence to achieve it. We will then consider what constitutes a healthy diet for you and how your current eating differs from this.  We will look at the influences upon your food choices and behaviour and consider habits that have arisen from this. We will create strategies to overcome the obstacles standing in between you and your healthiest self.  


Gaining a positive relationship with food is as important as what we eat.  We will explore your emotions and feelings around food, and consider how certain beliefs and 'diet' behaviours have contributed to this.  We will attempt to unlearn unhelpful behaviours and reframe damaging beliefs in order to fuel our bodies from a place of compassion rather than deprivation.  


I believe that a balanced approach to nutrition creates the healthiest relationship with food.  And a healthy relationship provides the foundations upon which we can learn how best to nourish ourselves. I use motivational coaching to help my clients adopt a health-oriented approach to nutrition, and support them every step of the way.

What to expect

 

  • A full Health Consultation will be carried out before we commence your programme in order to better understand your overall health, how this is affecting, and being affected by, your nutrition


  • A Nutrition Lesson explaining metabolism and how your body uses food as fuel, the macronutrients, and the aspects of nutrition of particular importance to us as women over 40


  • A Nutrition Consultation, which is essentially a deep-dive in to how you currently eat, how this differs from a healthy diet, and what changes need to be made to create a healthy relationship with food

 

  • Bespoke 60 minute coaching sessions, delivered in person or online.  These are mainly conversation based sessions, but may also involve cooking workshops and food shopping excursions


  • Access to all of my client resources - from nutrition coaching documents to recipes


  • Goal setting and accountability reminders


  • A personalised approach to progress monitoring.  The tools chosen will be appropriate and sensitive to your personal goals and may include: a food diary, symptom tracking, meal planning, body composition tracking, etc.

Health Coaching is a conversation based, whole-body-and-mind approach to achieving complete health.  


In addition to considering nutrition and fitness goals, health coaching considers all aspects of your life in order to identify any other obstacles which may be preventing you from achieving complete health and well-being.    


What is a Health Coach?    


A Health Coach is a non-judgemental, supportive mentor who helps their clients to gain clarity on their values and goals and to embrace positive lifestyle changes.    Health Coaches tailor individualized wellness programs to meet their clients' needs.  


As a Health Coach I support and empower my clients to take responsibility for their health, and provide them with the tools to achieve their self-directed wellness goals.    I will help you create a completely personalized 'roadmap to health' that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.  

What to expect

Your private Health Coaching programme can be spread over a course of three to six months, taken weekly or fortnightly.  


Each session is approximately 60 minutes long and can be conducted in-person or online.    


During our sessions we will determine what goals you want to achieve and formulate attainable action plans. This allows for new habits to be learnt, and for these habits to become a sustainable and permanent feature of your life.   I will support you by providing guidance, encouragement, and holding you accountable to your word. Since most of this program occurs outside of our sessions, namely your everyday life,  the results are really up to you!        


The content of our sessions will be guided by you and the areas of your life  that you want to positively change. In addition to your conversation-based  sessions, I provide you with a health coaching journal for you to use daily, and access to my online library of resources, which includes a wealth of wellbeing exercises, nutrition worksheets and recipes, and pre-recorded Yoga, Pilates and workout videos.    


I am passionate about the power of Health Coaching.  If you have tried short term diets or training programmes you will know that the impact is temporary; you return to previous behaviour and habits soon afterwards.  The value of a 3-6 month programme is that it fosters long-term behavioural change, the benefits of which last a lifetime. 

Yoga & Meditation

By quietening the thinking mind, connecting with our breath and moving intuitively, Yoga allows us to experience and inhabit the space of our bodies in a very powerful way.  

  

Following my initial 200hr Yoga teacher training course in Bali in 2015, I went in to teaching immediately.  After 9 years of developing my skills as a Yoga teacher, I decided to undertake my advanced 300hr Yoga teacher training in 2024 to become a 500hr certified Yoga Teacher.  I teach a fusion of Classical Hatha, flowing Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga; adapting and modifying exercises to meet the needs, physical abilities and experience of each individual. I underpin the physical practice of Yoga with meditation and pranayama (breath work) to deliver a whole body and mind experience.

What to expect

My private Yoga sessions are designed to provide you with an hour of complete bliss.  We quieten the chatter of the thinking mind, connect with our breath, and move mindfully in order to experience our bodies on a much deeper level.


You will learn how to clear and focus your mind, truly experience the power of your breath, and to build strength and suppleness within your physical body.  I believe that learning Yoga helps us to foster a more mindful approach to life and a more positive relationship with our bodies and minds.
